On this book I am about a 3.5 star, this book and series reminds me a lot of Harry potter but Celia does not go to wizard school. Celia goes to a school for gifted kids that have extra abilities. Celia is the most gifted of the seventh years and maybe the most gifted since her parents. I am on the fence about this book honestly. The characters are ok and I don't like a few because they pick on and bully Celia but I'm not sure how much I will get into the rest of the series. I would read book and

The Book in the Attic by Melissa Gunther is a good middle grade reader. As this is book one of a series, the author does a great job of setting up many angles from which to continue the story. Think female Harry Potter for the lead, Celia. She's magically powerful without knowing it. I'd like to see more dialogue and descriptive action instead of being told what Celia is thinking... or what she's guessing.
