I am so looking forward to reading this book.
Tonight I finished listening to this wonderful story and it's one of the best books that I have listened to in a long time.
The narration was absolutely brilliant and the book made me feel so many emotions it was unreal.
There is no glory in war only heartache and I am not ashamed to say this book made me cry.
I am most certainly going to listen to this audiobook again in the very near future.

I did not read many war novels but this book kept me reading on. I think over all I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. When I first started this book and saw how long it was I was afraid I would not like it and put it down, but I got through it. Though I have to be honest, this book still did not make me like war novels anymore than I do. Maybe someday, something may change my mind but not yet.

In a nutshell: Marie-Laure and her father flee from ‘Paris as Germans occupy it with a precious jewel as Werner, an orphan joins the Hitler youth.
Recommendation: If you’re looking for a good historical fiction title based on WWII... read The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah instead. This was well-written but just did not spark my interest.
I’m not going to waste as much time on writing this review as I did on reading this book and struggling through every page.

Beautifully written, yet so sad. 3.5.
There are not many books that I haven’t finished but this is one of them. It was well written and but the story lost me. It was a struggle to get as far as I did but it was just not engaging for me at all. Very disappointed that I disliked it so much but I’m glad that so many people did enjoy
