It isn't often I read a book where both the characters and the plot are so layered. The plot is basically about a white-collar crime (which normally would be very boring and dry) and made interesting by a complicated character who is definitely from the wrong side of the tracks. While he investigates the crime, he learns about the stock market... which means you do too. It was a really fun read that I couldn't put down. ...more

Beautiful historical detective novel based on the first stockmarket bubble. VERY interesting!
