This is brilliant. Not only are the tips and advice helpful, the examples are perfect and helps understand every concept better.

Some of the advice would seem common but Stein has a fresh way of communicating them which makes this book even better

Why? Why? Why did it take me so long to read this book? It’s been sitting on my TBR bookshelf for a little over a year, waiting patiently for me to get into gear. Something tells me I knew this book was going to be hard on me, which is why I put it off so long.

It has me rethinking things I thought were concrete. My WIP (that I thought was finished to go onto critique) is now in the midst of another read through and revision with this book by my side.

This book is a must have on any author’s shelf. Audible had this in their “included” list, so I added it to my library. It’s great hearing the author read/tell us his tips on what makes writing/stories good. I will be getting the paper copy of this book as it is one to study. I’ll want to underline important parts and write in the margins, and refer back to it as my own novel progresses.
