What Members Thought
Part of the problem is that this book was written for a younger audience than I provided. I realize that it's a classic, and maybe that's the problem. I spent most of the story wanting to throttle most of the characters, and when I didn't want to do that, I wanted to throttle the author for writing in such detail about Anne's first couple of years and then summarizing the last year. And what may have bothered me most about Anne and Marilla is that I can see something of both of them in myself. I
