Finally got done reading this tonight. I thought it was a beautiful read, sad and meaningful but so lively at the same time. Scout is so much fun to read, and I love how she's so indignant sometimes to her own detriment. I love how she constantly insisted she could understand everything just as well as Jem.

I just finished listening to this. Sissy Spacek was the best narrator. I remember liking this book in junior high, but I know now I didn't really understand why I liked it. This story is my new favorite. It so beautifully captures the importance of seeing people as equals, each a son or daughter of God who is no respecter of persons, black or white. Loved this story!!!

I just finished reading this book for the first time in over 20 years, and it's every bit as wonderful as I remember it. An engaging, beautifully told, with some of the most incredible writing I've had the joy of reading.
