I have been a fan of Stephen King for many years. I read this book when it first came out and enjoyed reading it again. Of course, I am very glad that he survived his terrible accident and is now doing better.

I've read this book almost five years ago. It's given that my standards in books are pretty high—this is the only non-fiction book I've rated five stars. Stephen became my favorite author for a reason. When he writes, he perfectly knows what he's talking about. Every possible detail and technique that he shared in this book proves to be evident in his works, which I've been loving and devouring for years (especially his collection of short stories).

Many like to give advice on writing, but no one does it better than King! I've said this before and I'll say it again, he gets down, he gets raw and he gets real. He is probably one of the most relatable writers of our time and that's why he's so loved. All advice in this book is as real as it gets and there's no fancy wrapped around it because as a new writer, you have to get real before you get all fancy.

Great book, excellent insight into the world of Stephen King. Highly recommend for all writers to read how a writer writes.
