I loved that in each part, or Book, there were exerpts from the well-known fairy tale. I picked up this series because a bookclub decided to read this as a series read for fun. That same bookclub later turned this series read into a new bookclub, Round the World bookclub. I've added the tags to this one. HAHA.

I can't remember what book it was that made me turn away from Marissa Meyer but I'm glad that I was able to experience this series. This book was really, really great. I loved all of the twists in this book! I'm sure that I would have loved to meet Marissa Meyer because she loves anime and Asian culture. I'm definitely about that life.

The setting is in Asia. I kept forgetting that they were Asian, really. HAHAHA. I love that we are able to get in contact with the people of the moon, the Lunars.

The parallels between this Cinder and Cinderella were amazing and I got giddy each time I realized what they were. Orange vehicle to pumpkin, Dr. Erland to Fairy Godmother, Iko to mice, etc.

I really liked Cinder. She was depressing at times but I would be if I were in her shoes. To read through the eyes of a cyborg were really cool, too. I loved reading the parts were she would download information, scan things, etc. Kai is charismatic when he's around Cinder but I felt like he was a little childish when he had to deal with political matters. I still like him, though. Iko is super adorable. I liked that there was one sister that appreciated Cinder. I kind of thought that it would be something like ACOTAR where both of the sisters were terrible at first but you come to love them later. Nah, Pearl is following in momma Adri's footsteps.

This was just the buildup. Cinder is learning more and more about herself. I'm sure that we'll get to start seeing some rouge action in the next books. I love that we'll get to continue on beside Cinder and get to know some more girls!!`` ...more

Going into it I wasn't sure how much I would like this book but the plot was more interesting than I expected, with elements beyond just romance. For a lot of the book I thought it would a three star but by the end it didn't feel fair. I wasn't even sure if I was interested enough to read the rest of the series, which I suppose will provide some more development and answers. I can't say I was super into it and unable to put it down but it was an enjoyable read. ...more

I didn't expect that I would love this book so much, but I did! Definitely the perfect science fiction book for beginners, so they would want to keep reading science fiction. It's very well-written. It's pacing is just right. It's not boring. It's hooking. The characters and the plot were both developed really well. I can't wait to read the sequel! ...more
