This is the first book in the Den of Antiquity series by Tamar Myers. The story is fairly entertaining and the mystery is filled with suspects. But I have to say that it's filled with a dialogue that aims to be a witty banter, but really just falls flat. Every character seems to be stereotypically exaggerated and every conversation seems forced and fake. It was a quick read, but not overly engaging.

This is the first book in the Den of Antiquity series but the not the first book I've read in the series. It was interesting to see how it all started and how much it changes, especially Abigail's relationships with some of the other shop owners. The mystery was pretty good and I enjoyed the ending.

I had forgotten how much I dislike the overly sardonic tone of this author’s books. I especially dislike the way the supposedly strong heroine lets the older women walk all over her.
The most interesting part of the story is the author's ability to weave herself in (frizzy-haired author sitting a few rows back in church).

A fair read with moderately interesting characters. If I come across another in the series I'll read it, but won't go looking for it.
