I won this book on Goodreads Giveaways and it was an enlightening read. It's a simple format, letters from a father to his son as the son begins his career in the Army. The letters are very conversational in nature and although there are several grammatical errors, it lends an air of authenticity to them.

I loved the riddles at the end of many of the letters and I also like the fact that the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States was included at the end of a book; b I won this book on Goodreads Giveaways and it was an enlightening read. I loved the riddles at the end of many of the letters and I also like the fact that the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States was included at the end of a book; both are documents that every American should be required to read. It was a good refresher and I found myself singing the preamble of the Constitution to the Schoolhouse rock tune.

As a person who has chosen to spend a career in the United States military, I feel that I could truly appreciate this heartfelt story that shows the depth of the father's character as well as his love for family and country. Very good read.
