When I began this book, I felt the rush of excitement one feels when one finds a new author who transports you. This novel has an incredibly complicated plot with two major protagonists, Mikael Bloomqvist, a crusading newspaper reporter, and Lisbeth Salander, a young hacker.
As I said, the plot is incredibly complex and I don't want to spoil it for anyone who will read the book. But the novel begins with Lisbeth lying in critical care having been shot in the head, and Bloomq ...more

The epic mystery that was the center of the book was interesting and intriguing (hence two stars and not one) but the amount of crap that had to be slogged through to get there made it almost unreadable! I didn't care about the grocery list of EVERY character or exactly what they ate or what time they woke up every morning or any of the other excessive life stories Larsson tangented (I know it's not a real word) off to every other page. As another reviewer stated this book should have been about

I really enjoyed this series and thought this was a great ending to it. One of the things that I liked about this book was the lack of violence and graphic scenes that were in the other books. The absence of some tough scenes made this a smart, fast-paced read that challenged you to keep up with all the characters and remember everything from the previous books.

Larsson needed a selective editor for this particular book. There are hundreds of pages of dialogue that are unnecessary. But once the story gets going (around page 350 or 400), I loved it. Larsson delivers his usual suspense; a good dose of the unorthodox, yet fascinating Lisbeth Salander character; and a cleverly and tightly wrapped conclusion that left me completely satisfied. He does indulge in a slap-dash mid-life crisis fantasy through a silly affair Blomkvist engages in towards the end, b

There are a few book series that I wish would never end and this is one of them. I'm so sad that this series is
over from the start of book 1 to the last page of book 3 it was excellently done. I loved the characters and how intricate and complicated the story was (even though at times I sat there in confusion trying to figure it all out).It a real lost for the world that Stieg Larsson is no longer with us to write more books, he was an excellent author and master storyteller. Didn't know if I could get through the character setup. Glad I did! It all paid off for an awesome second half of the book. I think anyone that follows it deserves a medal. Go for it!

This was a great wrap-up to a fabulous series. There were a few unanswered questions and one path I didn't like (hence the 4 stars), and knowing that he had 3 more planned in the series, I can forgive him for that (and for his tragic death). I'm just glad that this arc ended well, and Lisbeth is the best heroine I've read about in a LONG time. Thanks for 3 amazing books, Steig Larsson.

Sadly, I am at the end of the Millennium trilogy. I wish there were more books, it can't end like this. Alas, Lisbeth Salander will go on no more adventures.
