This, I liked. Major Pettigrew likes things just so, but when his younger brother dies suddenly, it throws him for a loop. His neighborhood grocer, Mrs. Jasmina Ali makes him tea and they begin seeing each other. At first, it’s to discuss Kipling, but then things progress and his neighbors in Edgecombe St. Mary in Sussex and her relations don’t care for it. Being people of a certain age, they deal with this in all the usual, unusual and delightful ways.

My hubby's grandmother often gives me book recommendations and I love to listen to her thoughts on the books she's read. She recommended this book very highly to me and I was excited to read it with my book club this month.
