This book was powerfully written in a dual plotline between 1942 and 2002. I can not believe the amount of negative reviews given to this book...they are not warranted. I literally could not put this book down.
Thank you to Rosnay for bringing Vel' d'Hiv' to the public eyes. This is something that needs to be acknowledged and remembered so that we do not repeat this in the future.

Think I have to stay with murder mysteries. While this was a good story, the "present day" whiny soap opera drama was way tooooo much for me.

Great book, but what a crap ending. It was very unlikely and too sappy for my tastes. I would have preferred that it ended once all parties involved knew what had happened. Despite that, I liked how Rosnay writes and how well she pulled of an American lead. I'd recommend this one.
