I really liked this book...up until the end. The book starts out switching chapters from the perspective of a current-day journalist and her life who, while on assignment, uncovers the story of a girl who was a victim in the Holocaust. The other chapters are from the view of Sarah, the girl who carries a horrible tragedy within her. Once we learn about the tragedy, the story just stays in current times as the journalist deals with her life and learns what happened to Sarah after the war. I reall

Excellent Book...Very sad, but a quick read about the Vel 'd Hiv round up in Paris.

Great book, but what a crap ending. It was very unlikely and too sappy for my tastes. I would have preferred that it ended once all parties involved knew what had happened. Despite that, I liked how Rosnay writes and how well she pulled of an American lead. I'd recommend this one.

I would have preferred to keep the two stories separate or totally exclude the present day story. The reflection storyline was one that captured you, the present day storyline didn't keep my interest.
