This is another entertaining mystery in the Hamish Macbeth series by M.C. Beaton. My mother-in-law and I have been reading this series fairly steadily now for the last couple of years and we have really enjoyed it. We only have a half dozen more books to go until we are all caught up. We like the characters and the stories are interesting and quick reads. This one was a bit violent and included some rather mad characters, but I was engrossed by the tale. Overall, a good cozy read.

Good mystery! This one had elements that were harder to figure out than the usual Hamish Macbeth story, and it's always better when Elspeth is around.
