It's true, this is another vampire novel. They're my guilty pleasure. This particular twist in vampire lore is delightfully scientific, and unlike most novels attempting a realistic approach to vampirism, I was able to suspend my disbelief easily. The first-person narration in this story really works, and the biological tangents are fun.

An interesting take on the vampire theme, held my interest but no where near as good as the uglies trilogy of the midnighters series.
