The book seemed a bit overwritten at times - but maybe it was just that I didn't particularly like the reader. I'd listened to another book with the same reader and liked her much more - I just don't think her "you can tell I'm smiling while I'm reading" thing worked here.

I had heard good things about this book, but for some reason I expected it be slow and somewhat of a difficult read. I was pleasantly surprised for it to be the opposite and to love the book.
Though not extremely religious, I'm familiar enough with stories of the Bible, and it was interesting to hear a woman's perspective as well as the customs and day to day life of the Age. ...more

I have read and reread this book many times. I can't remember what I read about Dinah in the Bible, and what I read in the novel. This was a great peek into the lives of Leah and Rebeccah and their families. I like thinking of Leah as a trusted friend and advisor, even if she wasn't Jacob's first choice.

I loved this book; the sacred feminine aspects were comforting and spoke volumes.
