What Members Thought
An exciting read, but not as exciting as Da Vinci Code. The same protagonist and antagonists, the Masons. This time the story is set in Washington DC and all the symbolism there in the buildings. Robert is conscipted to solve a mystery, a race against the clock. The prize is a friend's life. The climax is exciting, I would never have anticipated the twist the author makes. I've read a few of Dan Brown's other bestsellers, so when I got a chance to get this book at the library, I grabbed it. It's a very fast read, with most chapters only 2-3 pages long. It's a long book, but I read it in only two days, a real page turner. It's as exciting as the other books I've read, with the clock ticking almost audibly as you race toward the riveting conclusion. But it also has more graphic violence than I prefer, also another common theme in his books.

I am sorry to say this, but i found the plot of this third book quite foreseeable. And I could've done without the lengthy explanations on Mr Brown's (or his character's) personal view on world religion at the end of the book. To me, it did not quite fit in with the rest of the plot and was not supported by it either.
