Expands on the previous two books but also stays a little too close in tone and direction. Honestly, all three of these first books could be thrown into a single volume and I'd have no idea about them being three individual titles. The characters age three years across the three books but their maturation is not noticeable. My main problem is with that character development, along with a lack of back stories for main characters and students so far. I wonder how these books being middle grade cou

I keep being surprised by things that happen, because even though I know they happen I can't remember how or when. I am glad to go back over this series yet again.
