This is probably the best book I've ever read. It provides an amazing insight into the political and religious conflicts in Afghanistan, and really highlights the plight of women in a real way. Not only is a beautifully written tale of friendship, but it's an amazing and eye-opening read. ...more

This is an absolutely wonderful book. I liked the Kite Runner but I really liked this book. It makes you glad to be an American. This is an eye-opening story of oppression and war and the struggles people particularly women have in Afghanistan.
