This book is one of my all time favorites. This time around is my second time reading this book and I am so glad that I re-read it. It renewed that inspiration that I needed in my life. In Paul Coehlo’s, “The Alchemist” tells a story of a shepherd boy named Santiago who choose not to let his ordinary life get in the way of his dreams. Wonderful, wonderful!
I think of this story as a parable. Similar to the stories Jesus told in the Bible. The Alchemist is a reminder for us to have objectives, a purpose, dreams, etc. Don't give up just because it's hard, and don't quit until you've achieved your objective (I need to remember this about work projects, etc)
Also, by the end it reminds us that the journey is not just a means to an end. The journey itself may be the most important part (just like the end of a story may not be as imp ...more
