I listened to the audio version of the book. For my Virgo mind that loves order this might be a little too much disorder & chaos. It was, at times, a stressful read. Christopher's love of order and adherence to the rules makes me want to hug him because he seems so serious and compliant even in the face of sadness. The point of view is interesting and thought provoking and the story is sad. Not my favorite book ever but a different and somewhat out of my comfort zone choice. ...more

This is a must-read book. Christopher John Francis Boone is a fifteen year old mathematically gifted and socially hopeless autistic teen.
He reminds me of the TV show character Adrian Monk. He seems to have a lot of OCD characteristics along with the autism and his parents are having trouble raising him with all his issues. How can you not like yellow? Anyway it's also somewhat of a murder mystery tied into the rest of the story.

This was an interesting book that I would put at 3.5 stars if possible. It was a quick read and a interesting look into the mind of someone with autism

If you like to analyse texts then this is great as there is a lot to consider between the lines. Then again, if you don't want to look to closely, I think you could just take it as a simple, but slightly odd novel. ...more
