This is definitely an eye-opening must-read about the Afghan culture and the beginning of the Taliban reign of terror. I think that one must be open to reading the content before judging the book in whole. We are very fortunate in the U.S. and most of Europe as a "civilized" and "progressive" culture where discrimination doesn't blatantly rule and terrorize the streets. i knew this book was special before i was even half way through it, but i dont think i knew just how special it really was until i finished it. its so hard to describe the feeling after reading such a book as this one. i feel as though i am in a daze, my mind just keeps running through this amazing story. the emotions that this book conjures are astounding. i have read hundreds of books in my 15 years, but i think i have learned the most from this one. i cant even describe this book to you prope
