Fantasy fans, this is definitely a book for you. It is a fantasy book settled into a Russian sort of backdrop, but not exactly because it’s an entirely new world. I think it just borrows a little from some customs and language. The characters are very strong and well written but the best part of the novel, in my opinion, is the world building. The social hierarchy and the internal strife within their country is fascinating. This is a great first book for a trilogy. It sets up everything beautifully and keeps you guessing the entire time. The whole series is fantastic. This is another great young adult fantasy to add to your reading list.
