Speak, by Louisa Hall, has multiple narrators who, at first, seem unrelated. These narrators are separated by time and space, spanning several centuries from the 1660's to the near future 2040. Hall creates a very realistic and easily imagined future world where " transport" rights ( freedom to travel) are exchanged for the privilege of living in a safe community.
