Rounding up from 3.5 to 4. No one does multi-generational family stories better than Anne Tyler. My problem with this book is not the writing, but the sequencing structure and the ending felt rushed and unsatisfactory to me. The story begins in the present day with Abbie and Red in their senior years suffering from the effects of aging. The kids pow-wow the problem of Mom and Dad who can no longer be trusted to be alone. I love Anne Tyler and her latest novel, is simply wonderful. A story of three generations of a Baltimore family an the house they live in, this book is warm generous and poignant.
