Cixin won the Hugo for The Three - body Problem which takes place over the span of several decades;from the time of China's Cultural Revolution to the present day. Cixin poses the question of whether we "should be engaged in contacting alien life forms while we are so busy killing each other?" I have often wondered why we think aliens might put up with mankind's ignorant savagery. I did not find this novel to be easy reading. Recommended for fans of science heavy sci- fi, like "The Martian".

This was going to be a one-star but the final reveal in the last 15% of the book added a star, and at least somewhat explained the main plot of the book, which up to that point was a complete mystery (in a bad way). The sci-fi concept at the end was intriguing but it has absolutely nothing to do with the "Three Body Problem" posed by Isaac Newton. The ending was so convoluted and rushed.
