This is a ripping crime novel with plenty of threads and clues to excite and confuse the grey matter, as they should. I enjoy the voice of the main character, young detective constable Sam Shepard in Symon's books (this is the third I've read) and the Dunedin location playing a supporting character is well done. The 'who' in the whodunnit was a smart resolution but I felt the end was a little rushed and left a few threads still dangling. A great read and I will be checking out the next in the se

The 3rd novel in a great local series on Sam Shepard now a constable detective in Dunedin, New Zealand. A beached container ship, looters and assault is just the start of this novel. This is written in a great whodunit style and Symon's research creates a very realistic scenario. I really enjoyed the read and it left me wanting more so it's good that the book concludes with the prologue for her 4th novel - Bound.
