Another light read, also good and with the added essence of local flair and flavour. Sam Shepard is a sole charge police constable in Mataura. A local woman (Gaby Knowles) is dead but the supposed suicide is in fact murder, to complicate the picture Gaby's husband is Sam's former lover.
