I thought this novel was brilliant. Renata Adler's first novel, on which she says that her premise for writing was to write a book she'd like to read. What we get is a book of sharply observed situations, memories and snippets of conversation. She wryly observes people with great alacrity and humour. I really loved this book, and I can't wait to read more of her work. ...more
