This book was very easy to read and engaging. I sat down to read a chapter and ended up reading the whole book. It felt like I sat down with Diane with a glass of wine and she shared with me what was going on in her life. At first I struggled with the writing style but once I started reading it like she was talking to me, it flowed beautifully. A lot of people have pitched this as a humorous autobiography, but it definitely is not that. Sure, there are some humorous moments... but it's not light reading. It's good, emotional, heart-wrenching reading that really gets to the heart of many issues Guerrero experienced growing up and still to this day contends with.

I finished this book on the day of the Women's March (after marching myself) and I can't imagine a better book to read on this day. Diane Guerrero's story is why we marched today, why we need to continue to stand against hate, and stand up for diversity and love. So much love for this book and it's author.
