Dawkins, though not quite as readable as Hitchens, seems to have a much deeper grasp on religion. The God Delusion is a fascinating and intellectually satisfying look not so much at why religion is wrong, but why it almost entirely beyond any probability is not right. Dawkins meticulously deconstructs religious arguments against naturalism/secularism, and exposes them as little more than stubborn refusal to face reality. Dawkins' assertion that the complexity of the universe argues against the existence of a supreme being rather than for one, is the ultimate nail in the coffin of creationism/intelligent design.

This became an intsant classic, despite the fact that it deals with the matter in a rahter general way. The book's greatest merit is arguably to reboot the discussion about religion and God after it had fallen into a deep coma, caused by relativism, political correctness and the desire not to hurt the feelings of easily-offendable people. God should be discussed like any other theory, and that's what this book does.

Wow! Really thought-provoking book. I definitely don't subscribe to this level of atheism by any means, but I really enjoyed Dawkins's style of writing. The only thing that was hard to follow was his biology metaphors. He uses a lot of those, especially in the middle, kind of went a bit over my head, but overall really interesting.
