I was stuck to Life of Pi, day and night for about four days till I finished it and then I read it again. I'm pretty sure all the lit students out there will find several complex ways to describe Martel's writing and sentiment, but I'll just say this: The book comes very close to magic.

I know this is a hugely popular book, and was highly recommended by many friends, but somehow it failed to grab me. Perhaps it's the skeptic in me - couldn't quite connect with the "spiritual" tone. Never even managed to finish reading it!

marked it as couldn-t-finish
OK, I technically couldn't finish this one. It just didn't hold my attention. I got bored. I found myself not caring about getting back to it night after night. That's not a good sign. I have too many books I want to read so if I just can't get into one...I'm just not going to bother. I did read a lot of reviews on this one and came to terms that in the end I don't think it would be my kind of book anyway. The first 80 pages were just OK.

One of, if not my favourite novel. Read the book before seeing the movie! I've read this twice now, and I will probably read it again later on.
