After 9-11 western atheists decided, seemingly en mass, to come out of their quiet corners and say publicly (and fairly loudly) that 'enough is enough.' 2004 saw the publication of four books in the English language that quickly became known as the cornerstone of a movement called the New Atheists. The authors, Dawkins, Dennett, Hitchens and Harris were then dubbed (marvelously I thought) The Four Horsemen.
