This is an excellently written novel with a lot of depth that is almost imperceptible in the midst of reading. Days after finishing the novel, I have found myself thinking of the characters and various plots and wondering about incomplete and open-ended plots. I do recommend reading this novel.

Warning. Despite my positive review and recommendation, it took me some time to embrace the story because much of the language and story lines assaulted my senses. I can best describe it as harsh and jarri

I DNF'd this book. There was entirely too much unnecessary swearing. I wanted to like it since I like foodie books, but I couldn't get past all the swearing. ...more

This book was a fun read. Each chapter features a different person who tells their version of the story, adding up to make a woman's life. We all are composites of different roles, associations, interactions and this really captured it. Plus it had some fun recipes in it, so it would make a great bookclub read with everyone bringing different food. It made me want to think of the recipes and people that make up my life and I had to wonder what stories would they tell. ...more

Blah. Wasn't interested in any of the characters. Only briefly enjoyed the first 30 pages or so. Lost interest so many times while reading, which is why it took me forever to read this book. Didn't care for the audiobook. Didn't hate it either, which is why I gave it 2 stars. ...more
