I adored this book! I finished it days ago and can’t stop thinking about it. I never knew about the packhorse librarians so being able to discover their story through this book was a treat. I’ve read a few books by this author so I knew going into this book that I would like the writing style. What blew me away was the incredible cast of characters! I'm surprised by how much I liked this book! This is about a group of women in the hills of Kentucky who deliver books to rural areas where people wouldn't otherwise have access to them. There is a body found and one of the women is accused of murder because a powerful man doesn't like her and the library business so there is a trial and a lot of conversation around the power of influential men over everyone else. Good commentary, best Jojo writing I've read, overall really entertaining!
