Interesting new developments in this book, but somehow, I couldn't help but feel as if Sookie's fairy connections were wasted. They didn't really matter until this book, and at the end of this book, I don't see how they will matter again. I am getting intersted in her love life again, although part of that subplot has me feeling rather dead inside. I cannot get enough of this freaking series! Loved the fact that there was another juicy Eric moment :P I also liked the ending, thought it left it open nicely for the reader to choose which vamp he meant. (I'm thinking Bill, but I'll choose Eric thanks) I did feel a bit of sympathy for Bill in this one, seemed hard to hate him here. The fae storyline was interesting, I liked it more in this book than in some others I've read. Is there more to this series? I got the feeling this was it. :( ...more

3.5 stars.

It's about time this series went somewhere!! The last few books seemed like Harris didn't really have a clue where she was headed with her ideas and characters...but this book actually started to tie stuff together.

For me, these books are brain sugar, so I try to evaluate them based solely on their entertainment value, and not necessarily on their literary merit. I am pleased with the presence of Eric--and to some degree Bill as well. Perhaps there is some redemption for him yet. And

The series is back to three stars. I like them, and I'll keep getting them from the library, but my suspicion is that Sookie Stackhouse jumped the shark somewhere around #5. ...more

I devoured this book in one sitting. It was delicious and a very nice break from reality.
