Interesting new developments in this book, but somehow, I couldn't help but feel as if Sookie's fairy connections were wasted. They didn't really matter until this book, and at the end of this book, I don't see how they will matter again. I am getting intersted in her love life again, although part of that subplot has me feeling rather dead inside. Maybe I'm too used to the traditional HEA romance, but I hate watching Bill pining in the background while Sookie moves on. Plus, I don't have any fa

It's been a year (or almost) since I've read a Sookie book and I think the time apart was good for us. After some time away I found myself really enjoying this, the 9th installment of the Southern Vampire series. For those of you who have only watched HBO's True Blood, book Sookie is much more likable than show Sookie and I think I had forgotten that.

Loved the fact that there was another juicy Eric moment :P I also liked the ending, thought it left it open nicely for the reader to choose which vamp he meant. (I'm thinking Bill, but I'll choose Eric thanks) I did feel a bit of sympathy for Bill in this one, seemed hard to hate him here. The fae storyline was interesting, I liked it more in this book than in some others I've read. Is there more to this series? I got the feeling this was it. :(

The series is back to three stars. I like them, and I'll keep getting them from the library, but my suspicion is that Sookie Stackhouse jumped the shark somewhere around #5.
