A beautiful book. I reached the end and immediately wanted to turn back to page one to start all over again.
I thought this book was astonishing. Writing about such horrific topics and yet still making this book warm and human and full of hope is no mean feat. I adored the way the timelines jumped forwards and backwards,either to give you some insight into a character or to give a glimmer of light at the end of so many atrocities. The intertwining threads of people's lives were woven expertly and believably and the end was both heartbreaking and comforting.
