As a woman and as a normal kind hearted human being, I'm not going to lie: a lot of this is downright disturbing to read. From that perspective, it's hard not to question the author and ask simply, why and how on earth he could create such a twisted and evil mess so central to his story line... Shock value? Maybe... This book had me at the first chapter. Usually it takes several chapters for me to really get into a book. The fist few chapters are a lot of backgroud, establishing characters, etc. With this book I wanted to know the end before I got to the second chapter (No I didn't peek ahead LOL)
