Not my usual genre but I decided to give it a go. The story swept me into the seemingly charmed life of Lucy and Daniel, their little boy, and even the dog, in the early 1800's England. The characters were very believable and I cared about them. The plot kept me interested and turning the pages. It was fun imagining what life must have been like back then, especially the roles of women. Well done. ...more

One Dark Soul is a beautifully written book which kept me enthralled from page one. Having read and enjoyed the previous books in this series, I was delighted to find clever little reminders of how and where the characters fitted into the plot. It was great to be re acquainted with favourite characters and to experience another well thought out plot. Can't wait for more books in this series. ...more
