I'm reasonably pleased with this book, and I hope to write even better ones in the future.

Stella is larger than life. No, really she larger than anyone in school. Loud and proud she takes no prisoners when teased about her Junoesque proportions. A family move to the other side of Canada leaves her angry and hurt with her parents disruption of her life. She has to start all over, making new friends which does not come easy. Smart and sassy, her brains are often overlooked by her generous size, that is until she meets Howard. Howard is that weird kid in the corner shunned by the entire

Holy Hera! Where do I start with this one?
Chemistry is one of those books that defies categories and expectations. The cover screams Twilight parody, and it is, but at the same time it is something else entirely. It's unique. It's unapologetic. It's zombies and romance and snark with a healthy dose of swearing.

Twice I tried to stop reading this book but I just couldn't. I have never read a zombie book before and when I finally figured out that's what this book was, I wanted to stop. I started a different book, but I just had to come back and find out what was going to happen with Stella and Howie. A very interesting story with unlikely characters who were very endearing. I really enjoyed it!

I'll admit I'm not the target audience for zompocalyse lit. Way too old, way over that. But, I have to say, and I want to say, that I really enjoyed this book for the best reason of all: Ms. Lynch can write.
Her first chapter is masterfully executed. At its end, I knew the conflict, had a clear picture of the main character, loved the pacing and tone, and couldn't wait to turn the page for chapter two. I wasn't concerned about the upcoming zombie battles or gaps in logic because the writing was s ...more

First glance at the cover of this book and it resembles that of Twilight, until I looked closer and noticed that's a heart, not an apple. The character names are similar: Stella, Howard, Dr. Mullins. Also, Howie and his family are undead, but they aren't vampires. That's where the similarities end.
I consider this story to be a wonderful parody of Twilight. Stella is loudly opinionated and doesn't put up with crap from anyone. I absolutely love her sarcastic sense of humor and quick wit. Her self ...more

Tremendous fun with extra BRAAAIIIINNSSSS! ;)
I avoided this book to start with because I dislike spoofs (at least spoofs on successful books, of which Twilight has many - usually appallingly written) and Chemistry's cover screamed 'Twilight spoof'. On further examination there is so much more to it then that. This is a sharp, witty and extremely funny story that will appeal to both Twilight and non-Twilight fans alike. Yes, there's the obvious crossovers - the basic plot of a girl moving home a ...more

Oh God, I did not like Stella Blunt at all when I started reading this book. I thought she was rude to her parents, inconsiderate, judgmental "all popular girls are bitches" and pretty selfish. Me not liking Stella is a good thing though, believe it or not. That means that the author managed to create a "real" character, one that I didn't like all that much, but one that felt real nonetheless.
