Andrea Connor is beautiful, talented, and smart. She's a gifted sculptor with amazing prospects, but with all these wonderful things going on, she is the epitome of a tortured artist. She laments,"She got invited to a lot of parties. She believed because everybody liked having an artist at their soiree. They think we're colorful. Interesting. But I'm not either of those things." What an interesting story.
Andie is a sculptress by day and a street artist by night. At the end of her tether with grief from the death of her brother, she falls down a black hole of despair and depression. Three of her statues come to life in an attempt to save her after she tries committing suicide.

I love Christine's writing, her description of David (one of the statues) coming to life is beautiful and very poetic. The explanation towards the end of the book is thought provoking and the book

Roney's first book is awesome. The story flowed thru its twists and turns and I kept reading, wanting to know more. Andie's behavior is of a troubled soul, mentally ill or crushed by guilt, or maybe a little of both, I am not sure, but "down the rabbit hole" she goes capturing the reader's interest. Imaginative and compelling, though not a genre I usually read, it fascinated me till the very end. Very well done. ...more
