It's easy to see why children and parents love Carol P. Roman's books. She knows how to engage children and also teach them valuable parts of the globe and other cultures. I'm amazed at how much she keeps expanding in order to enrich family's lives. Another great addition to the series.

Carole P. Roman is hugely successful with her highly educational books. She has several series of books. Each contains colorful drawings that capture and hold the interest of children. And each book is written in language kids will find interesting and the stories in each is fascinating. I do not know any other author of children’s books who has packed her books with so much need-to-know information in such a fascinating fashion as Roman does in her “If you were me and lived in…” series. Another delightful book in Carole P. Roman's introduction to culture series. Readers learn about how Berlin was once a divided city and that its location at the crossroads of two trade routes have made it important for centuries. The Neuschwanstein Castle in the Bavarian Mountains does look as if if were the model for Cinderella's castle at Disneyland. Children will be fascinated by the world's largest miniature railway located in the Port of Hamburg. Learning about yummy foods like sauerbraten,

Living in Germany many people would call your country Deutschland but the rest of the world refers to it as the Federal Republic of Germany. It is the most populated member of the European Union and is second most popular immigration destination in the world.
Berlin is the capital and the largest city in Germany. After World War II it was split with a large wall that divided it into two different countries. Many families were separated from one another ut in 1990 the wall came down and Berlin was ...more

MY THOUGHTS
These books that Ms. Roman writes are giving your children a chance to travel (in their minds) and learn about other countries while having fun. They are learning and may not even realize it. I like that harder words have their pronunciation put in parenthesis and at t he end of the book is glossary with pronunciation along with meanings. This book about Germany, called Deutschland and known as the Republic of Germany. The book has colorful illustrations to go along with the story. ...more

Our next trip is to Germany! There are so many things to see and do. Did you know Berlin has been an important city for centuries? We can explore castles and other sights. Also, we can try several different dishes. Festivals and history will keep you moving around.
I love this series. It gives children a chance to learn more than the basics taught in school. Well written, this book will capture your child's imagination from page one. This is a series that should be in your child's library.

Carole has done it again, teaching youngsters and adults about a country. This time it's Germany. I found it quite interesting since my mother was German and I spent time in that country. I have actually been to Neuschwanstein Castle. There is so much history and Carole pointed out some of the better known places. Again the culture and food are talked about.

My daughters and I enjoyed reading "If You Were Me and Lived in...Germany" for a supplement to our geography lessons in school. This book is a fun way to teach kids about culture and how other kids live in different parts of the world. There were many references to the different kids of food they eat in Germany and different activities they do there. It is very helpful during reading aloud to have the pronunciation of the different words in parenthesis to enable easy flow of reading. There was o

I love the "If You Were Me and Lived In..." series of books by Carole P. Roman. I am privileged to have almost the entire collection from around the world. This one is a view of Germany.
As with all of her books from this series, she follows a general format which includes: city capital, name for parents, names for children, money used, foods eaten, places to visit, school name, holidays.
