Ms. Roman has once again created an enjoyable and fun way to learn about the different cultures around the world. If you have read any of her "If You Were Me And Lived In" you are familiar with the lovely pictures and easy way she makes reading and learning a fun experience.

A great country, Brazil. Today I took a trip to the Amazon Rain Forest located there. And it is the largest rain forest in the world; filled with all kinds of animals and insects. Brazil is the largest country in South America, and is also known to be the largest producer of coffee in the world.

Let's take a new trip. This time to Brazil. Did you know they speak Portuguese? Brazil is the capital of South America. The president of the country lives there. We can visit the Amazon Rain Forest. We'll see fish, birds, monkey's and parrots. One of the biggest events in Brazil is Carnival. Everyone dresses up and has fun.

Once again, Carole Roman has done it again in teaching young people about another country (and in time for the Olympics as well). I like how she shows the culture, geography, language, and history so simply that kids learn as well as enjoy the story. Even us adults learn something from reading these books.
The book is simple, colorful and even has a section on the important who's who for Brazil. She has even included a glossary in the back. Well done, Carole Roman. ...more
