There was nothing but calm waters and smooth sailing ahead of him.
The day started well - the crew members of the Flying Dragon were doing all their chores, the ship is zipping around and everyone is getting along... or are they?
There was a cry of distress, a commotion broke out high over their heads.
There's a new crew member - Zach - and he wants a job like the rest of the crew.

...but...all the jobs are already filled. And while Hallie is trying to help, she doesn't

Another great award winning book by Roman. I just love all the different stories she tells using Captain No Beard. And more importantly, my daughter does too.

"I received this book from the author/publisher for the purpose of my review. All comments and opinions are entirely me own."

After reading and reviewing Captain No Beard; Fribbet the Frog and the Tadpoles, I was excited to be able to review another of Carole's Captain No Beard stories. Just like the other book, A Flag for the Flying Dragon has good moral truths that encourage children to problem solve and help one another. Captain No Beard must find a way to keep all of his younger siblings hap

Captain No Beard and his crew have set sail on a new adventure. They also have a new crew member, Zach. The day is going well for the entire crew until they realize Zach doesn't have a chore to do. It's up to Captain No Beard to find a chore Zach is best suited for. The job he gives Zach is very special and very important. It also solves the Captains wish for a flag. Join Captain No Beard and his faithful crew as they work through yet another adventure.

As with all books that I have read from the Captain No Beard Series, the author has a lesson to tell. Working together for the common good is the key here.

This time, the crew is working on finding the newest member, and Grandson of the author, Zach, a job. At the same time, Captain No Beard is wishing for a brand new crew flag. What is a captain to do when his crew is upset and there is a problem? Work it out!

In the end, after a few mishaps, the crew manages to find Zach the perfect job and the

If you have read any of Ms. Roman's previous books you know they are all meant to teach young children a lesson. In her latest book we learn that being part of a team might not be easy, but it is rewarding when all the members/people get along.

Linus the lion, Polly the parrot, Matie the goat, Mongo the monkey and Cayla and Hallie just can't seem to find a job that Zachary can do. He is young and wants to be included but nobody seems to want his help. Thanks to Captain No Beard he comes up with

Another really cute book by Carole Roman. I love the story of how the Flying Dragon got its flag. The pictures are wonderful and very colorful. Kids (and adults) would like having this story read to or read it themselves. It does teach in a round about way of how kids can use their imaginations using every day things like toys, furniture, friends and family. Kudos to Carole for a wonderful book.
