Chilling entry into the Inspector Stone series. Carver has grown as a writer and his carefully woven plot thickens slowly and deliberately as a murderer appears to be on a random killing spree. The story is told through multiple viewpoints, both the killer's and Stones's and the reader is drawn along on the grim cat and mouse game. Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger)
This is the 2nd installment in the Inspector Stone series. There are too many words to describe this story: intriguing, engaging, chilling, devastating, heartbreaking... I could go on, but you get the idea. I usually don't read murder mysteries but found this one to be thrilling and well written in a way that allowed me to want to continue reading the story all the way to the end. I also appreciate the humorous sarcasm and share Stone's partner Burke's frequent need for a good cup of coffee. I l ...more
