These books have so many wonderful topics that they visit. Everything from geography to manners. I love the Aurora Borealis and this is such a wonderful way to introduce it to children. My daughter and I love going on adventures with Captain No Beard.

description

Captain No Beard blew on his fingers to warm them up.
Captain No Beard and the crew of the Flying Dragon are on another adventure...but this one is taking them on a path they never could've expected.
"Iceberg, off the ship's bow!"
The Captain is up to something...but no one can think of that that is.

All the crew knows is that they are sailing due north, under the light of the North Star and it's getting colder by the second.

The Captain has plans to steal - the aurora borealis - b

Captain No Beard and The Aurora Borealis is another great book by Carole P. Roman! I hold this author in high respect as her books are always such a thrill to read with her entertaining characters.

I received this review from the author/publisher for the purpose of this review. All comments and opinions are entirely my own.

In Aurora Borealis, Captain No Beard plans to steal the Northern Lights even though he knows that it's wrong. His crew-mates all recognize this and stand up to him despite the

My very selfish advice to Carole Roman is to drop all activities other than those essential to life and concentrate on writing children's books. She is an existence proof that not all adults grow out of the vivid imagination they had as children. Her books are full of great adventures of the imagination where the stuffed animals are part of the crew of the mighty ship captained by No Beard.
In this case they are on a mission to the frigid Arctic where the captain wants to take the aurora borealis

The Captain and his crew are on a new mission. This mission will take them through snow and ice. It will be dangerous. The reward will be worth it though. Captain No Beard and his crew are sailing North. He's decided he wants the Aurora Borealis. The crew explain to him it's wrong to take it without permission. After thinking about it, the crew come up with a way he can have the Aurora Borealis without taking it.

What a perfect book for this time of year. It's colorful illustrations make it eas

Captain No Beard and his crew are out sailing in the Flying Dragon and the farther north they go, the colder it gets. They even find an ice berg. But Captain No Beard is wanting to "steal" something and everyone knows that's wrong. They don't know what he wants to steal and they refuse to go along with his plans. Then the aurora borealis appears in the sky.....

This is a beautifully written picture book about the aurora borealis and what kids can do with their imaginations. There is also a lesson

My daughters and I enjoyed reading "Captain No Beard and the Aurora Borealis" together. It is a fun, imaginative story, mixed with a little bit of education about the northern lights. The book is about the shipmates heading north, toward the North Star. Even though they are pirates, they don't want to follow what the captain wants to do because it isn't right to take things that don't belong to you, so there is a moral educational aspect to the book as well. In the end, the crew comes up with a ...more

I thought this book was cute. I loved the hidden message about knowing right from wrong, confronting and informing of your stance against stealing and then using your imagination. Well done!
