Mm, three and ... a half. Stars. But I’ll round up. I’m told the writing gets better and Lila gets less annoying in the later books, so I’ll keep reading. There are too many things that happen here Because Plot, and some of the dialogue is just right out of the big book of pop culture clichés, but it’s a neat idea and I want to see where it goes. Plus I met the author one time and she was really sweet, even though I hadn’t read any of her books and didn’t realize who she was. 😬

It took a little bit to get into this but once Kell and Lila started collaborating it started to pick up. The chemistry and banter that the characters have with each other helps bring you into the story.
