I was kind of expecting this book to be really dry and old but it has such humour and soul and it was serious and hopefull and just so real.

This is a beautiful love story in the face of New York’s injustice which still exists today. Tish and Fonny the father of her child tells the complete story of their love and frustration. She tells how they love each other but he is wrongly accused and thrown in jail. Their family, friends, and other people’s attitudes are all reflected in what happens.
