I haven’t read this book since high school, and I decided to reread it for the 2016 Popsugar book challenge. It was a quick read, and I think I enjoyed it a little more than last time (probably because I wasn’t forced to analyse every third word for symbolism). It was fascinating to watch as the little boys degenerated into crazy little murderers, although, I would have liked to have seen how the book would have evolved had the boys already known each other prior to crashing on the island, or if

Ei huonoimmasta päästä seikkailukirja muttei parhaimmastakaan päästä. Toisinaan hieman tylsä ja varsinkin loppua kohden, alkupää kirjasta oli ihan kohtalainen. Hieman jäi mielestäni tarina tyhjäksi ja loppu oli hoidettu liian yksinkertaisesti siihen nähden miten tarkkaan muu kirja oli kuvattu. Päähenkilöt olivat ärsyttäviä kiusaajia. Jos edes pääjehu olisi ollut symppis ja kohdellut kaikkia samoin olisi jotain pelastettu. Tai sitten olisi tapahtunut selkeää kasvamista siinä suhteessa mutta nyt .

An interesting read, but I felt like the premise wasn't fully explored, and it was outdated in some ways. A positive experience overall, but I wasn't particularly captivated by it.
